Conversation Phrases

Writer's picture: MayaMaya

I know I'm sorry! I'm like a week late. There is no excuse. I know a certain sister request I add a word or phrase once a week, I'll do that within the next few minutes. Thank you for your patience!

Question, how's the convention so far? Are you enjoying it?? Hope to see you sometime this weekend.

Ok, so for those out there who want the original Korean spelling, this is copied and pasted from the old Korean Group text. Which means most of this is spelled using English pronunciation. Sorry! But, some of it is in the way Sung sent it to me, so be on the look out! If there are some you need in English Phonics, just let me know I can do a whole other post just for you.

Conversation Starters!

Hwa-jang-sil.

(Bathroom. Ok, I know this out of place, but I feel it's the first thing we need to remember.)

Yo-bo-say-yo!

(Get attention.)

Ji-kum ba-pha-yo?

(Are you busy?)

An-yo-has-eyo!

(Hello)

Eh-to-ke Jin-nah-se-yo?

(How are you doing?)

Cho-un.

(Good)

Che (je) ee-duh-men _____ im-nee-da.

(My name is ______.)

Tang-shi-ney ee-duh-men moo-shem-nee-ka?

(What's your name?)

Ee-bu-ney ee-duh-men (person you are with name) im-nee-da.

(His or her name is _______.)

Man-neso ban gap-sim-ni-da.

(I am pleased to meet you.)

Jeo-do man-neso ban gap-sim-ni-da.

(I am pleased to meet you too. JW language.)

Da-she man-neso ban gap-sim-ni-da.

(It's good to see you again.)*

Mi-an ham-ni-da.

(I'm sorry, formal, apologetic.)

T(Che)-shum-ni-da.

(It’s all right/it’s good/it’s fine /you may. The t and -Che are the same from above, the only way to describe this is by forcing yourself to pronounce both? Does that make sense? The spelling for this in Korean is this: Josseumnida.)

Ken-chan-na.

(Go ahead.)

Gam-sa ham-nee-da.

(Thank you.)

Cho-mo-neigh-o.

(Your welcome.)

Chi-chiy-yo.

(Good night.)

An-yong-hee gae-sae-yo.

(Goodbye)

Conversation Fillers

Ke-do hap-she-da.

(Say prayer.)

Gap-si-da.

(Let's go.)

Bpalee Bpalee.

(Hurry up. Remember, silent p!)

Do-op shi-da.

(Let's eat!)

Ee-go-shen ma-shis-sim-knee-da.

(This is delicious.)
