Phrases or abbreviations I may use:

y/n= Your Name

p/n= partner name (who your with at the door)

Sometimes it can be hard to remember your greetings, and I can remember a funny experience where this has happened. (Psss, I'll tell you later if you wanna know, it was funny.)

Sooooo, here are the top five greetings to use at a door, or quickly. In any case, you may want to screenshot this to your phone.

An-ya-ha-ce-yo

(Hello)

Je ee-duh-men (y/n) im-knee-da.

(My name is_____. *^)

Ee-boo-de ee-da-men (p/n) im-knee-da.

(His or her name is _______.)

After your presentation in English....

Gam-sa ham-knee-da.

(Thank you. It's customary to bow from your hips, not your head.)

An-yong-gee-ga-se-yo

(Goodbye)

Footnotes

* Note, 'im-knee-da' is the word, 'is,' but in Korean it's always found after the name, I've learned this from Rebecca and Wally.

^ Note, Je is spelled Che, and technically it sounds like ch- or che-, but for pronunciation purposes I've heard it both ways, depending on the app or the person. It's your choice on which you prefer, but I've always used Che- just because that is what I learned first.

Thank you for reading!

Maya
